The 6-phase occupied renovation
of This 1960's 2-story building provided many challenges
in the design phase and during construction. This association's
complete revamp of the building they own & occupy
meant living through months of constant construction
and shifting of personnel within the space.
Since many of the interior
walls were exposed structural brick, respect for the
original architecture of the building was paramount,
and designing a functional, updated and appropriately
appointed space were the key goals.
By replacing the carpet
throughout, adding new light fixtures in office areas,
providing new ergonomic systems furniture in all open
areas, replacing the damaged ceilings, reworking the
reception area for ADA compliance, upgrading the mechanical
systems, and selection artwork, we provided NASSP with
a brighter, cleaner, more technologically functional
space.
Careful & detailed coordination
of the construction phases minimized the impact on the
employees in their day-to-day activities.
New exterior lighting was
provided, and the building's courtyard was structurally
reinforced and re-paved. The work in total provided
an overall 'face-life' for a building with great architectural
integrity, and the renovations enhanced the original
design of the building.
