Interplan architects used a creative design approach to change this office space from an existing enclosed, hard-walled, dreary, narrow corridor into an open, spacious and light filled environment.
The organizations’ offices and workstations were designed to be placed along the perimeter to give remarkable views to majority of the staff. The most exquisite views are of the Capitol building and can be seen from several vantage points. Several informal seating groups were designed to encourage impromptu interaction and social discourse among the organizations’ various departments.
The reception desk is a custom designed architectural feature. It welcomes employees and guests from the elevator lobby while behind it transforms into a serving counter for the seating and break-out area of the organizations’ conference rooms.
ACICS, located in Washington, DC, is “devoted to promote higher education to make sure that learning institutes meet the highest standards.” Interplan architects were able to enhance the beauty, presence and design of this office space. |
