This professional
staffing firm wanted to take full advantage in designing
their new office space to rethink and revitalize typical
communal areas (reception, conference and lunchroom)
to encourage staff interaction and promote enthusiasm
into the work environment.
The reception and café were designed
for social interaction and positioned as transition
areas between the modular workstations and the large
conference room. A circular wall and ceiling define
the reception while allowing visual peeks into the surrounding
office areas revealing layers of interest. Similarly,
the open café is defined by an angular wall opposing
the curve providing a corridor gallery for contemporary
art. Use of saturated colors and specialty lighting
accentuate these forms and surfaces. A passive background,
of large colorful panels, envelops the high-tech modular
workstations giving visual interest and rhythm without
overwhelming the staff.
The final design
created an office environment that stimulates the everyday
occupant as well as the potential customer and visiting
guest.
