This highly successful company experienced such quick internal growth that their spatial needs were double the capacity of their office spaces, comprised of isolated floors in multiple buildings within Bethesda. The planning and design process allowed them to not only consolidate into a single building, taking
several contiguous floors, but also to decompress from their dense environment into properly sized personnel and support spaces while still maintaining
expansion areas for future growth.
The planning capitalized on strengthening interdepartmental adjacencies and necessary
support spaces. A conference center was developed as well as a central lunchroom for
employee use.
An engaging and sophisticated look was derived by the subtle use of form, color, texture and lighting. A conscience design effort was made to select and use green materials and practices where
possible. Old carpet tiles were recycled. Bamboo and cork floors were installed in lieu of traditional resilient flooring. |
