Beginning with a square
floor plan, Interplan rotated the central core functions
15 degrees to provide a juxtaposition between the rhythm
of the columns and walls enclosing the core. Inexpensive
materials were employed to provide cost-effective open
workstations in a dramatic departure from EPB's previous
corporate culture of a closed-office environment. Bold
colors differentiate between structural, enclosure,
and circulation functions, giving clarity and definition
to the use of the space.
