Neustar - Awarded Gold Certification
Sterling, VA

Sq. Feet: 92,000
Year completed: 2011

We are proud to announce that Neustar’s Ridgetop 3 a 92,000 SF headquarters located in Sterling, VA was awarded LEED® Certified level of certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) on February 17, 2012. The LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™ is the USGBC’s leading rating system for designing and constructing the world’s greenest, most energy efficient, high performance buildings.

This certification is a great honor and recognizes technology leader Neustar for the management of overall energy consumption, water efficiency and material use during the construction process. The building interior was designed with distinct efforts to ensure sustainable practices. Bryan Carter, VP of Procurement & Commercial Real Estate, had this to say about the efforts, “Receiving LEED certification is the culmination of two years of careful design and planning. This achievement demonstrates Neustar’s commitment to environmental consciousness and is consistent with our organizational values. This was made possible through the efforts of our Neustar Facilities Team in conjunction with our design firm Interplan of Washington D.C.”

What’s Required to Become LEED Certified?

To become LEED certified, we were required to submit in-depth data supporting the annual operational efficiency of the new building. We received the LEED rating system – LEED CI v2009 Certified certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies into the overall building design.

LEED verifies environmental performance, occupant health and financial return. LEED was established for market leaders to design and construct buildings that protect and save precious resources while also making good economic sense.
